Banstead Wood : Proposed Parking Updates - Residents' Survey
Scroll down
this page
for the survey
UPDATE: 28.11.24
Please watch this interview with the potential new parking contractor. Explodes many of the myths assumptions and beliefs people have voiced, quite rightly, associated with experiences of parking permits. Explains how everything would work if it goes through.
PLEASE WATCH BEFORE TAKING SURVEY, THANK YOU.

Any more questions afterwards please email

.
Plus you can read the following information if reading is easier than watching.
November 2024
All residents may take part in this survey. Details are required at the end to ensure only residents participate.
You can find the
background here
.
The proposal is being sent to all households
by Wildheart
week ending 15th November 2024
or click below to see it in full (residents and landlords only, can take the survey).
Covering letter
Proposal information
Please complete the Survey:
Apparently abandoned vehicles causing moss to grow on the tarmac below
1. How aware are you of the recurring problems with parking in our estate?
*
Very aware
Somewhat aware
Not at all aware
2. What have you personally experienced or witnessed in the last few years? (Tick all that apply)
*
Observed vans wrongfully parking overnight, against the lease
Car park full, vehicles needing to park wrongfully elsewhere on the estate
On red lines or No-Parking areas
Apparently abandoned vehicles causing moss to grow on the tarmac below
Vehicles parking in my own designated space, or that of another resident
Big vehicles crowding out the spaces next door
None of the above
Other (please specify)
*
3. Did you know of the following estate rules and other situations, regarding parking? Please tick all that apply
*
No parking of commercial vehicles overnight between 6.30pm and 6.30am
That there is a weight restriction mentioned in the lease
That no resident should be conducting a business from the car park
That our parking notices need updating due to legislation changes and will cost £800 to renew with the current company, but zero cost with proposed new contractor
That anyone can currently park any vehicle on our private land and it is not a criminal offence which effectively means we are powerless to get rid of them as we do not have a permit system
That without a permit system an abandoned vehicle if SORN cannot be dealt with
That tenants have to be dealt with via their leaseholder/owner, not directly; a permit system could help communication, and would allow us to also mention other important factors eg bins/dog poo and off-lead walking/vans etc (plus nice community info)
That a proposed permit system would handle almost all of the above matters as vehicles would be registered when permits applied for, (please read accompanying document for details)
That directors act on behalf of leaseholders and make decisions on a regular basis. On this occasion for obvious reasons, they have sought opinions from many people (including in person, via phone or email/WhatsApp group and ultimately this survey). And that there is no requirement to do so in the lease.
Tick if you are aware there may be a zoom meeting with the contractor and you would like to take part
The nine directors are doing their best for the estate, often with the help of volunteers amongst residents, and under the guidance of Wildheart our property managing agent; trying to solve problems many of which only directors and Wildheart get to hear about, using all available resources whilst endeavouring at all times to save money where possible, budget wisely, and communicate. Are you aware it’s all voluntary and are you satisfied they are doing their best?
Other (please specify)
*
4. To recap what was in the Proposal - - vehicles with a permit will not get a ticket. Vans with a permit will not get a ticket during the day but will be fined as per lease, (if needed using Reg No. on file), if wrongfully left overnight, contravening rules of the estate. - each flat can apply for the residents and visitors permits they need, both physical permits and online - there is no cost for bringing in new contractor, and setting up system, including no cost for notices to be replaced with required new wording - A Site Plan will accommodate the rules we need to apply for exceptions to the rule, delivery vehicles, a 'Safe List' of permanently allowed contractors etc Tick whichever option applies :
