Annual Summer Barbecue 2022

Weren’t we lucky! Another fabulous, sunny August bank holiday weekend, and another splendid annual summer barbecue took place in the water garden, arranged as ever by the lovely Elaine Orr from Shaw. Not only does she and the volunteers organise it all, contribute food like these wonderful concoctions that were filled with a delicious rice mixture, made of pineapples et cetera (see gallery) but she also organises a raffle, and a quiz! Many new people joined us there this year including David Starling from Shaw house, and his group which included another two Daves – hence the quiz team name “three Daves! “. If Dave Bignell on the adjacent table, from art gallery, had joined him it could’ve been completely different, NOT! LOL!

Many of the regular faces were there, and it was a pleasure as ever to see everybody gathered together having such a wonderful day. In in the interests of hoping to entice new residents who never attend these things, Debbie Flint from Rendel, went round doing a little video (below) which will serve to invite people next year. short video here.

Matt helped out on the barbecue as did John Sutton, and many others helped too, thanks to everybody involved.

We were so lucky with the weather, fingers crossed it’s like that again next year!
